Join Ben for an inspiring and informative poetry workshop in which you are encouraged to run with the festival theme and go ‘wild’ with your writing!
Ben Ray is a versatile and consummate poet, performer and mentor. He is equally at home performing at sold-out venues as in giving talks and workshops. Ben recently presented an academic paper on poetry and climate change at the World Youth Forum: Rights to Dialogue in Italy.
An accomplished young poet, Ben comes from the Welsh borders with ‘a fresh and original poetic voice – full of wit, twists, surprises, echoes and challenges’ (Alan Rusbridger, former editor of The Guardian). His first collection After the Poet, the Bar (Indigo Dreams) won the Geoffrey Stevens Memorial Prize. His second collection is What I heard on the Last Cassette Player in the World (Indigo Dreams) and his third, The Kindness of the Eel will be published by The Poetry Business in 2020.
